Gordon joins his mother, Dame Kate Harcourt, as an Ambassador for Macular Degeneration NZ. He first became aware of MD because she had an amsler grid on her bathroom wall, and he has a 50% risk of developng MD because of the family history.
Gordon is best known as a presenter of TVNZ's Fair Go, especially for being assaualted by a car dealer who wasn't keen on his business dealings being featured on television!
After nearly 30 years in journalism in New Zealand and with the BBC, Gordon joined the Commerce Commission's communications team in 2017.
He has three children, (8,10,12 in late 2018), coaches kids' football and cricket and is an obsessive Arsenal fan. While he lives in Auckland he is, and will always be, a Wellingtonian.
