Mr Simon Rose BSc. Dip Opt
Simon graduated with a BSc in Neurophysiology in 1979 and was one of the last to graduate with a Dip Optometry in 1982. He started work as a general Optometrist in Hamilton in 1982 and worked for two years in London before returning to Hamilton to start up a partnership in a strong practice centring in contact lenses and general optometry.
He recently passed the Diploma in Ocular Therapeutics which gave him a new insight to the current mechanisms involved in Macular Degeneration.
Simon looks after a group of Carmelite Nuns in Samoa and visits them to check on how their eyes are. Having been in Optometry for the laswt 32 years and seeing the effect of MD on people on a daily basis, Simon believes he has an honest empathy in wanting to make a difference to those who are affected and those who may be affected in the future.
